Customizing Crow Works TableTops

Every tabletop that leaves our shop in Killbuck starts the same way: with a conversation about what your space needs. Some projects call for the warmth and character of solid hardwood. Others need the consistency of laminate or the weather-resistance of solid surface. Here’s how we build a solid hardwood top around your vision, one decision at a time.

Step 1: Species

Start with the wood itself. We work with White Oak, Red Oak, Black Walnut, and Hard Maple, all sourced responsibly and milled in-house. Each species brings its own personality. White Oak is an easy choice for its durability, while Red Oak shows off a more rustic grain. Black Walnut has a rich tone that’s perfect for higher-end concepts. Hard Maple is a workhorse for high-traffic dining rooms.

Step 2: Finish

From there, choose a finish. Our range runs from light, natural tones like Cask to deeper stains like Barley and Port. Every board carries its own grain pattern and color variation. That’s not a flaw. It’s the reason no two Crow Works tops are ever quite the same, and why a dining room full of them feels warm rather than sterile.

Step 3: Edge

The edge profile changes how a table reads from across the room and how it feels under your guests’ hands. Choose our standard 1/8″ eased edge, a softer bullnose, or something with more presence, like a reverse knife edge.

Step 4: Size

We build tops in 1″, 1.25″, and 1.75″ thicknesses, in any width or length you specify. We can also add radius corners or cut fully custom shapes.

Step 5: Graphics

This is where a table becomes yours. We hand-brand logos, stencil table numbers, and apply custom graphics directly to the top or edge. Guests notice it and remember it.

Beyond Solid Wood

Solid hardwood is our signature, but it isn’t the only answer. Some projects need a printed pattern, a specific brand color, or a surface built for the harshest cleaning regimens. For those, we offer:

  • Wood veneer for the look of wood in a lighter-weight construction
  • Laminate in a huge range of colors and patterns, built for durability in fast-casual and QSR environments
  • Solid surface for a seamless, non-porous top that stands up to heavy sanitizing and outdoor conditions

All of them are built to our commercial-grade standards and pair with any of our table bases.
