Founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1995, Crow Works was created by our founders’ drive to design and create quality furniture. Not only that, but a passion for designing spaces and pieces of furniture that tell a story and work together to define a sense of place.
Our start in the commercial furniture world came in 2004, with a custom shoe rack we created for L Brands. After designing and building a larger custom line of furniture for their stores, our business continued to grow and we began to form partnerships with other brands.
With a strong desire to stay local, and appreciation of the natural materials found on our doorstep, we began sourcing our materials in the Appalachian region, rich in American hardwood. We spent several years traveling back and forth to Holmes County, Ohio, in the northern Appalachian region, staying connected to our raw materials. So, in 2011, we moved our distribution center to Killbuck, Holmes County. With easy access to our materials, it seemed like the ideal place to call home.
Over the following 6 years, we experienced a tremendous amount of growth, serving over 500 clients across the country. And in 2017 we broke ground at our new campus in Killbuck. We expanded from a 1,200 square foot store in Columbus, to 76 acres and 100,000 square feet of production space. This space continues to function as our headquarters and our home.
Our values have always stayed the same, throughout the years of change and growth. We are passionate about bringing our clients’ vision to life. We are committed to using regionally and sustainably-sourced materials, and for staying true to our dream of creating beautiful, quality furniture that will stand the test of time.
Our vision going forward is to better serve our clients by creating an unparalleled experience, from start to finish. Our design and manufacturing process will become even more hands-on and collaborative for our clients, brought to life by our increased internal manufacturing capabilities. We will provide faster prototypes, faster lead times and more varied products.
We recognize that we wouldn’t be here today, nor would we be making such exciting plans for future growth, without the support and hard work of our team members. We are immensely grateful to our team as we are our clients. In tandem with improving our client experience, we are committed to expanding our team member experience, with focus on development, training and, of course, fun.
